Independent guide for Salesforce admins, consultants, and SMB teams
Quick answer
  • Free Suite now includes built-in AI
Salesforce now includes AI record summaries and AI email drafting in Free Suite
  • Starter and Pro add conversational AI
Starter Suite and Pro Suite add the Employee Agent, which can read, summarize, draft, and update records through natural language prompts
  • DealScope fits when teams want sharper output
DealScope is built for one focused use case: a shorter brief, clearer risks and buyer signals, and a better next email directly on the record page
Built-in AI is nice. Daily workflow matters more
The real difference shows up when a rep opens the record and needs context right now
  • Ready when you open the record
In our testing, Salesforce summary had to be generated again when opening the page. DealScope saves the brief on the record, so the context is already there
  • Less waiting, less clicking
A summary is most useful when it is already visible. DealScope is designed to reduce repeated clicks and repeated waiting
  • More consistent team workflow
Saved summaries make it easier for managers, reps, and anyone else opening the record to see the same brief right away
What happens when you open a real record
In testing with real Leads containing emails, calls, and notes, we noticed that the built-in summary is generated on demand.
That means when you open the record, the summary may not already be there.
You need to click to generate it again.
For daily work, this adds extra waiting and extra clicks.
DealScope saves the brief on the record, so the context is already visible when the page opens
What the summary actually sees
In our test, the record contained multiple calls, emails, and notes with descriptions.
However, the generated summary only mentioned the number of activities, not what was actually discussed.
For example, call descriptions included details about pricing, internal approval, and success criteria, but the summary only reported activity counts.
This suggests that the built-in summary may not use full activity content in every case.
DealScope uses activity descriptions, notes, and email text to generate a more detailed brief
Why activity content matters
  • -1-
    Calls contain key context
Call notes often include budget, timing, risks, and decision makers
  • -2-
    Emails show real intent
Email text often reveals objections, questions, and buying signals
  • -3-
    Counts are not enough
Knowing there were five calls is less useful than knowing what happened in them
How much does Agentforce for SMB actually cost?
Salesforce says built-in AI is included in Free Suite, Starter Suite, and Pro Suite, and says Employee Agent is included in Starter and Pro at no extra cost. At the same time, Salesforce also has a separate Agentforce pricing model based on Flex Credits and per-conversation pricing. That makes the overall AI cost picture harder to understand than it should be
  • Free Suite
$0 for up to 2 users, with built-in AI for record summaries and email drafting
  • Starter and Pro
Starter is $25/user/month. Pro is $100/user/month. Salesforce says Employee Agent is included in these suites with no extra costs
  • Separate Agentforce pricing also exists
Salesforce also publishes Agentforce pricing of $500 per 100k Flex Credits and $2 per conversation on a separate pricing page
What Agentforce for Small Business does well
  • Built into Salesforce
AI summaries and drafting are now part of Free, Starter, and Pro Suites
  • Easy starting point
Small teams can try built-in AI without extra setup
  • Good general overview
The summary gives a quick high-level view of the record
  • Strong market validation
This launch makes AI summaries and AI drafting feel normal for SMB Salesforce teams
Where built-in summaries feel limited in practice
  • Summary is generated on demand
In testing, the summary was not always already saved on the record
  • Activity content may not be included
The summary may use activity counts instead of activity text.
  • Output is very general
The result often looks like a high-level overview
  • Pricing is not fully clear
Salesforce says AI is included, but also publishes separate Agentforce pricing

Why saved summaries matter
A summary is most valuable before the user clicks anything
With a saved brief:
  • the rep opens the record and sees context immediately
  • the manager sees the same brief without re-running AI
  • the team spends less time waiting for the same summary again
That is why DealScope treats the brief like record context, not just an on-demand generation step
Who should use what
  • Choose Agentforce if
    • You want Salesforce native AI first
    • You are okay with click-based AI help inside records
    • You value built-in tooling over a narrower workflow
  • Choose DealScope if
    • You want the brief already saved on the record
    • You want less repeated waiting and clicking
    • You want a clearer next email workflow
  • Use both if
    • You like Salesforce’s built-in AI direction
    • But still want a more focused daily brief for Leads, Accounts, and Opportunities
